What We Do

—AGRICULTURE

Valluvam Trust plays an important role in the lives of the people in supporting economic development in different ways to help alleviate poverty. One of the ways we adopt to achieve this objective is to train farmers in sustainability techniques to improve farm profitability, increase market access and improve storage to sell their goods. Along with this we work towards creating awareness among the youths of this nation about the sustainable Agriculture, and make them to be part of Agriculture.

—HEALTH

Valluvam Trust believes to empower communities to act on their own behalf, equipping people to improve the social and physical environments conducive for healthy lifestyles, and also provide advocacy to enable policy makers to recognize and appreciate the necessity for improvements in health care. Also, we create awareness, mobilization and development of training programs on health care reforms.

— CHILD RIGHT & EDUCATION

Valluvam Trust is working for education for children, women education and girl’s education. We help children by assisting them in getting the quality education for street and slum children by conducting awareness and training program about the child rights and human rights for them and their families.

— WOMEN DEVELOPMENT

Valluvam Trust works towards Social Development by Educating women and girl children which would be the key to remove many social evils of our society, viz. dowry system, female infanticide and workplace harassment etc. we at Valluvam strongly believe that Economical Development of women will definitely lead to the economic development of the nation as more women join the work force. High income of an educated woman will contribute financially for the needs of her family and relatives.

— WATER & SANITATION

The provision of adequate water, sanitation and hygiene is an essential part of providing basic health services is important in our society.We at Valluvam aim to protect human health by providing a clean environment that will stop the transmission of disease, especially through the fecal–oral route. The provision of adequate water and hygiene is an essential part of providing basic health services in our society. Sanitation refers to public health conditions related to clean drinking water and adequate treatment and disposal of human excreta and sewage.

We at Valluvam believe that we can play a crucial role in helping to fill gaps in environment and ecology area by conducting research to facilitate policy development, building institutional capacity, and facilitating independent dialogue with civil society to help people live more sustainable lifestyles. Also, we sensitize policy makers about the local needs and priorities about the interests of both the poor and the ecosystem as a whole. In providing training facilities, both at community and government levels, Valluvam can play a significant role.
